\n陳醫師的臉書粉絲專頁：https://www.facebook.com/PsyDrCSChen/ \n \n\nThe Next Generation Mental Health Series (Sessions 1-4) Four courses to give blessings to our children. \nSeries (4) 7/29- Challenges of the Internet Generation: Prevent addiction and talk to children about Internet use \nSpeaker: Lars Changsheng Chen \nThe Next Generation Mental Health Series (Sessions 1-4) Four courses to give blessings to our children. \nRecently\, many members have been anticipating parent-child courses to help them see the light amidst their children’s helplessness. Dancing with the Elephant has specially invited Adolescent expert\, Dr. Lars Changsheng Chen\, to launch the “Next Generation Mental Health Series (Sessions 1-4)”. These four courses will impart blessings to our children\, therefore\, aside from single-session registration\, we will also offer a discounted bundle price of $32 (USD) for all four sessions. Video replays of the sessions will be available for thirty days after each class. For those interested in learning the entire series\, please select “Four-session Bundle Discount”: the registration link will be provided later. \nYou can choose to register according to your needs: \n\nFour Sessions – Register for individual sessions as needed.\nFour-session Bundle Discount Section – Bundle price $32 (USD).\n\nSeries 1: 4/29 – Insights from Attachment Theory and the Satir Model: Preventing psychological trauma and transforming the impact of adversity \nSeries 2: 5/27 – Stress\, Anxiety\, and Sleep: Both parents and children need to know more about stress relief and how to sleep well \nSeries 3: 6/24 – Is my child depressed? How to care and support children and adolescents who are experiencing depression \nSeries 4: 7/29 – Challenges of the Internet Generation: Preventing Addiction and how to talk to your children effectively about internet usage  \n\n[Course Overview] \nSeries 1 About 60 years ago\, British psychiatrist John Bowlby and others conducted research based on observations of interactions between infants and their mothers. They established the Attachment Theory which remains influential to date. According to this theory\, when their primary caregivers provide infants with enough security during early childhood\, children develop the motivation and courage to explore the external world. Moreover\, children will internalize this attachment style which in turn will influence their future friendships and romantic relationships. \nCoincidentally\, on the other side of the Atlantic\, Virginia Satir believed that the family is the first place where learning in human life begins. Our daily behaviors are just the tip of the iceberg\, with deeper internal factors lurking beneath the surface. Most of these internal motivations come from our experience of understanding the world as a child. \nTo help our children\, we need to further understand the needs and context beneath their behavior in order to provide more effective assistance. In this lecture\, you will learn how to use the Satir Model and apply the knowledge of Attachment Theory to deepen your understanding of your children and adolescents. \n\n【Course Outline】Series (4) \n\n Understand the various new challenges of Generation Alpha (technology\, and society)\n Current medical understanding of internet or social media addiction\n Prevention is better than cure; beware of the precursors of internet addiction\n How to understand the inner iceberg of a child’s Internet-dependent behavior\n\n\n

\n \n\nHow to Gracefully Bid Farewell to Life: A New Book Seminar (single session) \nDeath’s taboo weaves its way through all cultures\, near and far\, ancient and modern. The German philosopher Heidegger said\, “Being towards death\,” implying that with each passing day\, we draw closer to death. Every person\, including everyone we love\, will eventually face death and bid farewell to the world. Yet\, like ostriches\, the general public often avoids and refuses to contemplate death\, pretending it does not exist\, thinking that days can continue endlessly as they are. Apart from philosophers\, religious figures\, and a handful of advocates for life awareness\, the vast majority of people shy away from discussing death. However\, the impermanence of life often arrives earlier than expected. At such times\, immediate reactions include “How could it be me? I don’t want to die!” or “My loved one can’t die!” Hence\, people are willing to pay any price to prolong life. Doctors\, dedicated to saving lives\, enter their profession to learn all standardized procedures to prevent patients from dying. Even when faced with patients on the brink of death or those battling terminal cancer\, they instinctively employ every possible measure to defy the inevitable. \nHowever\, life has its limits\, and medicine has its boundaries. When a patient’s body becomes the battleground for doctors fighting against death\, it is the patient who suffers and the family who grieves. Under the torment of ineffective medical interventions\, 70% of people die in cold hospital rooms or intensive care units. People lose the opportunity to pass away peacefully at home\, and families miss the chance to properly accompany their loved ones and say goodbye\, resulting in long-term sorrow and regret over misguided medical decisions. \nThe taboo of death is deeply rooted in Chinese society\, forming a cultural framework and myth where people and the medical community feel compelled to save patients at all costs After the advancement of medical technology in the 1960s\, coupled with the implementation of health insurance after 1995\, in the past few decades\, too many people who should have died naturally have been held hostage by medical technology\, living only as shells\, dragging down their families\, health insurance\, and society. This is a completely unethical anomaly. These patients are forced to use respirators and force-fed\, and many ineffective medical treatments are inflicted on them\, causing them unbearable suffering. An aging society is coming\, if families do not awaken to this issue and the medical community does not change its style\, this kind of unethical incident will only increase\, and the price paid by individuals\, families\, and society will only become higher and higher. From this perspective\, can we really call ourselves a progressive nation that values human rights? \n Western countries have also experienced this process. In the 1980s and 1990s\, some families fought hard to have ventilators removed from bedridden relatives\, with cases reaching the Supreme Court and attracting national attention\, sparking intense debate. Gradually\, the medical community began to change its approach. For example\, in the United States\, the United Kingdom\, Canada\, and Germany\, most patients for whom treatment is ineffective now have their life-support systems withdrawn in intensive care units. Elderly patients in the terminal stages of severe illness are not intubated or subjected to futile treatments. The book “Modern Death: How Medicine Changed the End of Life” offers thought-provoking discussions on the evolution of modern medical technology\, its positive and negative impacts\, and the gradual changes in medical practices. The evolution process abroad serves as our best reference. We are already two to three decades behind\, but as long as we are willing to think\, self-reflect\, and change\, Taiwan\, which claims to be the most democratic and open-minded country in Asia\, certainly has the strength to change its mindset and becomes a nation that values the right to a dignified death. \n\nThe above is an excerpt from an article. She used to be the Dean of Taichung Municipal Rehabilitation Hospital and is a retired professor at the Chung Shan Medical University Hospital. She is currently a senior medical professor at the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation of the TW Ministry of Health and Welfare. Since she was in elementary school\, she felt gender inequality. She also felt that the weak are prey for the strong in the human world\, and she endeavors to fight against injustice. Being a rehabilitation physician was the greatest choice she made in her life. She learnt to develop an ability to not simply focus on how to combat an illness but to treat and care for a patient as a whole person holistically. She is grateful for all her patients and their families that she has served. Their vulnerability\, suffering\, grit\, and resilience have given her a lot of inspiration and strength. She also wants to express her gratitude to all the members of the rehabilitation team for their selfless and enthusiastic assistance. \n\nDr. Liu likes art\, travel\, photography and reading.
\n\n【講師簡介】\n丁李衡（Michael Ting）簡歷 \n現任：\n• 擁抱心理諮商所諮商心理師\n• 企業教練\n• 旭立基金會 領導人教練\n曾任：\n• 張老師基金會諮商心理師\n• 台灣輔導與諮商學會秘書長\n• 大陸工程（CEC）集團 副總經理\n•保聖那（Pasona）管理顧問公司人資顧問\n學歷：國立臺北教育大學心理與諮商碩士\n美國喬治華盛頓大學企業管理碩士\n逢甲大學交通工程與管理學士\n認證：台灣諮商心理師證照、ICF ACC認證 \n \n\nWhy do we need to learn ‘coaching’? It’s so difficult dealing with people: they’re hard to manage\, hard to lead\, hard to teach\, hard to understand; often\, I don’t even understand myself.\n2. “It’s inexplicable!”\n3.
\n \n\n【課程大綱】\n在這四堂課當中，透過導讀與討論的形式，我們會一起學習這四大主題： \n第一堂：鬆動框架＆正向思考的練習\n第二堂：認識ATM行為分析法\n第三堂：認識幸福三元素\n第四堂：對話策略的練習 \n(請自備書籍) \n \n\n【講師簡介】\n胡展誥 Oliver Hu \n個人簡歷\n【現職】\n台南市國小專輔教師外聘督導\n屏東縣國小專輔教師外聘督導\n永齡基金會希望小學諮詢委員\n國立高雄餐旅大學合作心理師 \n【經歷】\n台南市教育局學生輔導與諮商中心心理師\n新竹市教育局學生輔導與諮商中心心理師\n春暉精神科診所心理師\n杜華心苑諮商所心理師 \n【著作】\n《遇見，生命最真實的力量》\n《別讓負面情緒綁架你》\n《修補生命的洞》\n《擺脫邊緣人生》\n《說不出口的更需要被聽懂》 \n胡\n\nUnderstanding the Unspoken: A Book Club (4 Sessions) \n【Introduction】 \nBehind many behaviors\, we can find hidden messages from those involved\, including emotions\, needs\, expectations\, or various thoughts.
\n\n【如何抵達人心，如何為愛畫刻度：駱以軍的文學啟蒙小說26講】 \n作者：駱以軍 \n \n\n【戀物——36件臺北故宮國寶，看見歷史的滄桑與時代的美麗容顏】 \n作者：鄭穎 \n \n\nLuo Yijun vs. Zheng Ying: A Literary Couple – How Literary Works and National Palace Museum Artifacts Nourish Life (Single Session) \nHost: Jessica \nAuthors: Luo Yijun\, Zheng Ying \nOne is a heavyweight writer in Taiwanese literature – Teacher Luo Yijun. Recalling the early days of literary enlightenment in his youth\, facing the perplexing threats of existence\, how did he experience the “initial shock” of reading novels! Through 26 classic in-depth discussions\, he empathizes with readers\, unfolding the brilliant connections of the human heart with love and the world.\nThe other is the foremost guide for the National Palace Museum’s national treasures – Teacher Zheng Ying. She takes you through the corridors of time to experience the vicissitudes of history and the beautiful faces of different eras. Riding on the wings of cultural relics\, she reveals the stunning beauty of those times. \nIt is already a rare opportunity to invite either one\, but this time\, both will be on stage together\, creating a “nuclear explosion of beauty” for everyone. The fusion of literature and artifacts\, the intersection and empathy of history and time… \nSince the 1980s\, Teacher Luo Yijun has been constantly summoned to the disciplinary office by school officers\, deeply immersed in the frenzied and tumultuous youth of a street brawler in Taipei. How did he nourish himself through reading\, spinning among various writers and classics\, and under the gaze of the novel’s eye\, open a profound connection to the world and his inner self? When he talks about literature\, the frenzy and enchantment in his eyes are something that those who have never heard him speak about literature cannot comprehend. \nPeople who know Teacher Luo Yijun and have read his novels often ask him a question: “You look so much like Zhong Kui\, and your novels are so terrifying. Can your wife handle it? How is it possible for her to live with someone who is constantly immersed in and creating works in the vein of Dostoevsky\, Kafka\, Borges\, Márquez\, Rushdie\, Kawabata\, Akutagawa\, Ōe\, and Mishima—these nightmares of 20th-century Western literature? As the closest person to such a novelist\, can she really bear it?” Some even ask\, “How has she survived?” \nTeacher Zheng Ying is like Miaoyu in Dream of the Red Chamber. Despite all the hardships she has endured in life\, she remains a very shy\, pristine\, soft-spoken classical beauty. She has a secret mental retreat\, a secret garden—the National Palace Museum in Taipei. The ancient artifacts provide her with a calming and quiet strength\, enabling her to cope with various agitations. Listening to Zheng Ying talk about the National Palace Museum artifacts is like following her into the depths of history\, salvaging the hulls of enormous ancient ships from three thousand years ago\, two thousand years ago\, one thousand years ago\, four hundred years ago\, two hundred years ago. Those vividly lifelike\, exquisitely radiant civilizations seem to have lived just yesterday. \nThis is not a serious literary analysis or a professional tour of the National Palace Museum. Rather\, it is an inspired and free-flowing sharing of the beauty evoked by classics and artifacts\, much like how a pearl is formed by a grain of sand in an oyster. We invite you to listen to the sincere narratives of these two teachers. We guarantee you will be captivated\, enchanted\, and left wanting more. \n\n

How to care and support children and adolescents who are experiencing depression \nSpeaker: Lars Changsheng Chen \n[Course Overview] Series 1 About 60 years ago\, British psychiatrist John Bowlby and others conducted research based on observations of interactions between infants and their mothers. They established the Attachment Theory which remains influential to date. According to this theory\, when their primary caregivers provide infants with enough security during early childhood\, children develop the motivation and courage to explore the external world. Moreover\, children will internalize this attachment style which in turn will influence their future friendships and romantic relationships.\nCoincidentally\, on the other side of the Atlantic\, Virginia Satir believed that the family is the first place where learning in human life begins. Our daily behaviors are just the tip of the iceberg\, with deeper internal factors lurking beneath the surface. Most of these internal motivations come from our experience of understanding the world as a child.\nTo help our children\, we need to further understand the needs and context beneath their behavior in order to provide more effective assistance. In this lecture\, you will learn how to use the Satir Model and apply the knowledge of Attachment Theory to deepen your understanding of your children and adolescents. \n【Course Outline】Series (3)\n1. Recognize the symptoms of depression\n2. See the inner iceberg beneath the manifestations of depression\n3. How can I help a child who is depressed? \n\n

\n現在仍持續好奇張望，摸索人生中⋯⋯ \n \n\nOpen Up a New World of Picture Books (4 Sessions) $40 (Course opens with 15 or more participants) \nSpeaker：CHU\, CHING-JUNG \n【Course Outline】\n1. When we are young\, we enjoy the spectacle\, but as we grow older\, we seek insight:\nWhat kind of perspective do we use to read picture books?\nHow do “picture books” appear differently to adults and children?\nWe aspire for children to comprehend the real world through picture books\, to help them grow resilient;\nand we also hope adult readers can rediscover their childlike wonder through picture books\, to spread their wings amidst the rigors of life. \n2. Strange and fantastic picture books:\n“Picture books” themselves are like an “exhibition”\,\nAn array of picture books created by combining the three elements from picture books.Picture books: images\, content\, and design.\nIt’s as if our minds have opened up\,\npresenting all sorts of unimaginable\, unheard-of concepts\, creativity\, or perspectives. \n3. From a knowing smile to rolling on the floor with laughter:\nHow long has it been since you had a hearty\, unrestrained laugh?\nPicture books serve a multitude of purposes\, but “sense of humor” has always been one of their essential ingredients.\nHumor might not be a solution in itself\, unable to directly resolve matters\, but it aids in boosting morale\, easing tension\, and providing relief\, which can help in finding solutions.\nIn these tense times\, let’s turn to picture books and learn a bit of humor! \n4. The unit of “heart” in picture books:\nStarting from a picture book titled “The Calculation of Life”\nLet’s discuss what units we’ve used to define ourselves.\nThen\, let’s read several picture books together to formulate our own unit of “heart” Remeasuring our own (and others’) lives. \nAuthor of a children’s book:\nhttps://www.openbook.org.tw/article/p-278 \n\n【Notes】\n●Course opens with 15 or more participants. \n\n[Bio of Lecturer]\nCHU\, CHING-JUNG \nAfter reading The Little Prince in high school\, I decided to major in French. Following graduation from the French department at Tamkang University\, I spent several years working behind the scenes in television\, records\, radio\, newspapers\, …etc. I worked as a television program planner and scriptwriter\, a production planner\, copywriter\, and lyricist for a record company\, a music director\, and program host for a radio station. I also wrote for newspapers\, film magazines\, and reading blog columns.\nI ventured into rural schools and libraries as a volunteer for a foundation\, promoting reading. Serving as a Chinese education volunteer in Taibei Funding\, I published three picture books to raise funds; in 2019 I held a personal exhibition at the library;and at the age of fifty\, I spent eleven and a half months studying in France.\nI am still curious\, looking around and exploring life experiences. \n\n

(Certified) \n \n\nImmerse yourself in the experience of psychodrama\, where you’ll explore the complexity and depth of your inner world. Parental Accompaniment and Care for Childhood and Adolescent Depression \nSeries (4) 7/29 – Challenges of the Internet Generation: Preventing Addiction and Having a Good Conversation with Children about Internet Usage \n【Course Overview】\nAbout 60 years ago\, British psychiatrist John Bowlby and others\, based on observations of infant-mother interactions\, established the influential Attachment Theory that still affects us today. According to attachment Theory\, during childhood\, if the primary caregiver provides the infant with enough security\, the child will have the motivation and courage to explore the external world. Such relationships will be internalized by the infant and will affect their future friendships and romantic relationships. \nCoincidentally\, on the other side of the Atlantic\, Ms. Satir believed that the family is the first place where human life begins to learn. Our daily behaviors are just the tip of the iceberg floating on the surface\, hiding deeper internal factors beneath. And the shaping of these internal drives mostly comes from our childhood experiences of understanding the world. \nWhen we want to help children\, further understanding the needs and contexts behind their behavior can more effectively provide them with assistance. This class will guide you in utilizing the principles of Satir’s model and the insights from Attachment Theory to enhance your understanding of children and adolescents. \n【Course Outline】Series (2)\nWhat is stress?\nHow does stress affect our mind and body?\nDevelopmental patterns of mental illness: are they all related to stress?\nStress reduction methods for adults and children together without using electronic devices.\nTen recommended sleep tips from medical professionals \n\n
